A Trident producer Robin Cable was working on this Beach Boys song and thought Freddie&#8217;s voice was perfect for that song. Goin\u2019 Back was an old Goffin &amp; King song. Following all the known issues of this single.<br \/>\n<b><\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Larry Lurex: I Can Hear Music\/Goin\u2019 Back<\/b><br \/>\nUK EMI 2030<br \/>\nIn the photo you find a demo copy of this 7&#8243; released 29th June \u201973. In the label you find stamped the date 1\/6\/73, which usually refers to the date of release. Maybe it was postponed or the information about 29th is not correct. The matrix number is stamped (EMI 2030 A 1-U). Regular stock copies omit the &#8220;demo records not for sale&#8221; and the date overprints. This contains the 3.06 min version of the song.<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">In South Africa this single was released with the same label but with an additional\u00a0 &#8220;J&#8221; (EMIJ 2030) on the cat no. LL A-1 on the run-off groove. This is the rarest Lurex UK 45 also because it\u2019s a slightly different remix\/cut; it features 20 sec (total 3.26 min)\u00a0 more of a fade-out than the standard UK issue but the full 3.26 version can be found also on the German 7\u2033.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div><span style=\"font-size: xx-small;\"><strong>This\u00a0\u00a0UNIQUE\u00a0\u00a0 1 SIDED TEST PRESSING\u00a0 was\u00a0 &#8216;commissioned&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 BY\u00a0 Freddie Mercury\u00a0 HIMSELF.!!!\u00a0 I\u00a0 have\u00a0 it\u00a0 on\u00a0 good authority\u00a0and\u00a0 was\u00a0 told IN PERSON\u00a0that\u00a0\u00a0 these\u00a0 TEST PRESSINGS\u00a0 were\u00a0 actually\u00a0 commissioned\u00a0 BY\u00a0 Freddie Mercury\u00a0 later\u00a0 in\u00a0 Queen&#8217;s\u00a0 career (AFTER &#8217;73)\u00a0 as\u00a0 he couldn\u2019t actually get copies\u00a0 of\u00a0 the standard\u00a0 original\u00a0 release for himself or his friends. He\u00a0 wanted\u00a0 a\u00a0 quantity\u00a0 pressed\u00a0 at\u00a0 the EMI PLANT\u00a0 and so he duly got\u00a0 what he\u00a0 wanted.\u00a0 EMI\u00a0 pressed\u00a0 a\u00a0 small\u00a0 quantity\u00a0 on\u00a0 &#8216;white label&#8217;\u00a0 WITH\u00a0 white\u00a0 &#8216;plain sleeves&#8217;\u00a0 and\u00a0 this\u00a0 is\u00a0 how\u00a0 this UNIQUE item\u00a0 came about. They are\u00a0 &#8216;TEST PRESSINGS&#8217;\u00a0 due to the\u00a0 fact\u00a0 that very little was produced as commissioned by Freddie. Freddie\u00a0 wanted\u00a0 copies\u00a0 to\u00a0 give\u00a0 to\u00a0 close friends etc.,\u00a0&#8216;Jim Jenkins&#8217; has one\u00a0 and\u00a0 Freddie\u00a0 gave copies\u00a0 to\u00a0\u00a0\u2018Peter RATTY Hince\u2019, \u2018Peter Straker\u2019\u00a0(TO MENTION A FEW) \u00a0ALL\u00a0 &#8216;Friends and\u00a0 associates&#8217;\u00a0\u00a0of\u00a0 Freddie\u00a0 &amp;\u00a0 Queen.\u00a0 These\u00a0 TEST PRESSINGS\u00a0 were\u00a0 pressed\u00a0 at\u00a0 EMI\u00a0\u00a0either\u00a01976\u00a0 or\u00a0 1977,\u00a0 3-4 years after the original release. I don\u2019t know how many EMI\u00a0 pressed\u00a0 for\u00a0 Freddie\u00a0 BUT\u00a0 I\u00a0 do\u00a0 know\u00a0 it\u00a0 was\u00a0 extremely LIMITED hence &#8216;TEST PRESSING&#8217;,\u00a0 &#8216;Peter Hince&#8217;\u00a0 recently\u00a0 told me\u00a0 that\u00a0 Freddie\u00a0 gave him\u00a0 some\u00a0 copies\u00a0 &#8216;personally&#8217;\u00a0 AND\u00a0 he\u00a0 remembers\u00a0 also\u00a0 that\u00a0 there\u00a0 was\u00a0 a quantity\u00a0 in\u00a0 Queen Production Offices\u00a0 in Pembridge Rd, London\u00a0\u00a0between\u00a0 1976-77.<br \/>\n<\/strong><\/span><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\">\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: center;\"><b>Larry Lurex: I Can Hear Music\/Going Back<\/b><br \/>\nUSA Anthem Records AN 204.<br \/>\nThis single was out in USA under the Anthem label without a picture sleeve. The reproduction of the sleeve is very good but be careful when\u00a0 you find a mint sleeve and also check the mini LP covers on the back which appear to be not in great resolution on the fake PS.
